DeskCycle’s Ellipse is an under desk magnetic compact elliptical, which features a smooth and quiet design. Assembly is quick and easy, and there’s a handle that allows you to pick the unit up and carry it for easy transport.
This is one of the best compact elliptical in the market and here’s why it ranks so high.

DeskCycle is one of the world’s most advanced under desk ellipticals, and it comes with eight resistance levels that are easy to adjust. Forward and backward pedaling allows you to confidently work your quads and hamstrings to change up your workout for more muscle building and variety with your workout.
The smooth operation is due to the 16 precision bearings that allow you to smoothly pedal along the track.
Resistance is calibrated, so you can opt to go from easy to difficult resistance, which is perfect for young, old or disabled users. The logging software, which I’ll discuss shortly, allows you to enjoy a truly advanced workout.

A handle is placed at the base of the unit so that you can carry it by your side to bring it from one room to another.
DeskCycle claims that if you turn the resistance level up to 3, you’ll be burning twice as many calories as you would with no resistance. Over time, you’ll be able to increase your training and allow yourself to burn calories, build muscle and get a cardiovascular workout while sitting at your desk or while watching television.
GPulse Sensor
The GPulse sensor is included and offers the most advanced monitor for an under desk elliptical. GPulse allows you to toggle between settings, but it goes a step further by allowing you to:
- Connect to your iPhone or iPad
- Monitor your favorite six stats
- Connect to Fitbit, Deskcycle or your favorite fitness tracker
- Automatic stat posting
You’ll have full control over the sensor and be able to customize the real-time display. Setting up the unit is easy, and it will allow you to connect to your desired fitness account. The ability to log all of your fitness information in your preferred account allows you to track your overall fitness activity to reach your goals faster.

The monitor allows you to track:
- RPM
- Time
- Calories
- Distance
- Revolutions
- Scan
You can track up to 10,000 minutes of time to be able to log your long-term progress towards your fitness goals.
Assembly

You will find that the assembly is easy. Some users even state that you don’t need to assemble the unit, and they’re partly correct since you can assemble the unit in as little as five minutes. All you need to do is use the tool provided and attach four screws.
It’s one of the easiest assembly processes I have seen.
All you need to do is line up the foot pedals, flip the unit over and screw them into place. Parts are labeled, so there’s no guesswork or having to refer to the instructions multiple times when assembling.
The only step left is to put the batteries in the reader, and snap the reader in place.
You’ll be able to start using your elliptical immediately after following these steps.
Pros
- Advanced tracking
- Long pedals for larger feet
- Online logging software
Cons
- Click every rotation
The Ellipse is a generally quiet mini elliptical, but you will hear a faint click after each full rotation. You’ve probably heard this same click on full-size models, so it’s not too loud or intrusive, but it’s worth noting.
Otherwise, with the advanced monitoring and online logging software, the Ellipse is one of the industry’s best compact ellipticals and comes with truly advanced tracking.
