The Deskfit DFX100 is an advanced under desk compact elliptical that has been designed for both home and work use. An advanced monitoring system with app connectivity make this elliptical stand out from the competition.
Let’s get a little more specific as to why we think this is one of the best compact elliptical you should consider having.
Features and Specs
- 8-fold mounted rail system
- 8 resistance levels
- Magnetic brakes for ultra-quiet design
- Anti-slip pedal design
- Monitor with built-in app functionality
- Dimensions: 63cm x 51cm x 33cm
- Weight: 20.5kg
Compact and knee-friendly, the Sportstech Deskfit DFX100 comes with a mounted rail system for easy movement and also a silent belt drive to keep noise production low. The brake system is magnetic to provide quick and silent braking and further keep noise levels low.
When using this elliptical in a work setting where people are talking, keyboards are clicking and there are other noises, no one should be able to hear you using your elliptical.
The flywheel provides beginners and experienced athletes with a good leg workout.
If you need to make your session more difficult, you can adjust between eight difficulty levels. Each difficulty level gets progressively harder, with the seventh and eighth level of difficulty being the hardest.
A lever system is used in replace of a resistance knob.
There’s a large handle for easy carry and two chair stoppers to keep your rolling chair from moving when you’re exercising.
Monitoring systems are often an issue because you have to bend down to view the display. But this display allows you to connect to your smartphone. Smartphone connection allows you to view your progress without bending over and is the most convenient option for users.
You’ll be able to monitor:
- Tempo
- Fitness plan
- Heart rate
- Distance
- Speed
- RPM
You can view the total amount of cycles as well as choose between a warm-up and work mode. App support is great, with an intuitive interface that allows you to rapidly understand how to use your elliptical.
When it’s time to increase your intensity level, you’ll find that the resistance levels are hard, so start at the first resistance level and work your way up.
Assembly
The elliptical does not come assembled, and it will take more time to put together than competing models. A general rule of thumb (from reading through reviews) is that you’ll need to spend 20 to 30 minutes to assemble.
I personally feel like 30 minutes is far too much time to assemble since the unit comes primarily assembled.
Sportstech ensures that each part is identified clearly so that it makes it as easy as possible to assemble your unit. A step-by-step process is outlined in the manual, making it as easy as possible to put the unit together.
The assembly can be found online, but the entire video is in German.
You will need to attach several components:
- Front of the unit to the flywheel
- Unit to the track system
- Pedals
- Rear casing
Since there are easy transport wheels on the elliptical and a handle, you’re able to move the elliptical easily throughout your home and office.
Tools and all of the necessary hardware are included in the box, so you’ll be able to immediately put your machine together without searching for tools.
Pros
- Transport wheels for easy movement
- Smartphone connecting app
- Silent operation
Cons
- Assembly takes more time
One small complaint I have is that you will have to assemble this unit more than others. But you will only spend 20 minutes or less to assemble all of the components. It’s not a major issue, especially since this elliptical is sturdier and more durable than most other models on the market.
There’s an explainer video on Sportstech’s YouTube channel. Unfortunately, it is only available in German, but the visual aids and clear scenes make up for the audio for non-German speaking viewers.
For a high-end, robust compact elliptical, this is a great option.
