Cubii Jr is a best-seller that provides users with real-time progress tracking while fitting comfortably under your desk. Offering a low-impact exercise, the Cubii Jr features include the must-haves of the best compact elliptical available today.
Features and Specs
- Real-time display monitoring
- 8 resistance levels
- Carry handle
- Dimensions: 58.9cm x 44.7cm x 25.4cm
- Weight: 11.3kg
Small and compact, the Jr. is perfect if you want to move your legs, burn calories and gain strength while sitting at your desk or while on the couch watching television. The 11.3kg makes moving the unit simple, and you can also grab onto the handle to carry from room to room.
The handle sits right under the monitor and above the resistance knob.
When grabbing the handle, you’ll notice it’s perfectly balanced due to the placement right in the middle of the machine.
You can adjust the resistance between eight different levels. Magnetic resistance allows for quiet operation even at the highest resistance level. A turn of a knob is all that’s needed to adjust between levels. At the highest level, you’ll engage your quads more and burn more calories while building muscle.
You can keep track of your workout with the real-time display. Track your session’s:
- Calories
- Strides
- RPMs
- Distance
I recommend that you start on a low resistance level for a week or so and opt for distance rather than resistance at first. As you continually reach your distance or time goal, you’ll want to add resistance to keep burning calories, meet your distance goals and build more muscle, too.
Assembly
Once unpacked, you’ll find that the mini elliptical is primarily assembled for you. The assembly process is simple and requires you to take the unit out of the packaging. Inside, you’ll find four screws that are required for assembly.
If you have a box cutter, it will help you get through all of the tape and packaging material that protects the unit.
Since the unit is nearly assembled, you’ll have to attach only the following:
- Locate the right and left pedal (they’re marked).
- Locate the screwdriver (included).
- Place the left pedal in place and screw in the two screws.
- Repeat on the right side.
That’s it. Cubii includes everything you need, including the screwdriver, so that you can assemble the unit in two or three minutes. Be sure to tighten both screws slightly to keep the holes aligned before screwing them in tightly.
Once assembled, you’ll want to check to make sure that the pedals are fully tightened to allow you to push harder when pedaling with resistance.
Push the pedals to make sure that the monitor is registering your strides.
The monitor comes with a lithium-ion battery that has an estimated lifespan of two to three years. Battery operation makes this elliptical truly portable, with no messy cords required.
Pros
- Easy assembly
- Real-time stat tracking
- Built-in carry handle
Cons
- Pedals detach over time
You’ll find that the screws loosen over time. The screws are also surrounded with a thin plastic and some users claim that they broke the pedals after a few months of usage.
But the manufacturer was happy to send replacement pedals and offers a one-year warranty on the machine.
Consumers use this mini elliptical daily and have found great success with it. You can burn calories and help build muscle, too. While the unit is not as loud as a regular non-commercial elliptical, it is a bit clunky sounding, although nothing too noisy that would interrupt your work or colleagues.
A lot of users opt to use their elliptical when they’re watching television at night because it’s so compact that it can fit in the corner and won’t take up much space, even in a flat. Well-built, easy to assemble and offering multiple resistance options, the Cubii Jr provides an under-desk workout for users of all fitness levels.
