Orbus XT520 Cross Trainer Review
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Orbus XT520 is its massive flywheel – 10.5kg. What’s so special about its flywheel? For one thing, it provides a smooth, gliding motion with each stride you take. But perhaps the most impressive thing about the XT520’s flywheel is that it offers silent operation.
Some cross trainers can be loud – very loud. And if you prefer to exercise early in the morning, you certainly don’t want to wake the family while using your elliptical machine. The near-silent operation extends to both forward and reverse actions, so no matter what type of workout you’re performing, you never have to worry about making too much noise.
The dual action handlebars allow you to work your arms, while the stationary handles feature built-in stainless steel pulse sensors. These sensors will monitor your heart rate, so you can maximize the number of calories you burn with each workout session.
An LCD display is included as well, which allows you to keep track of your progress. From calories burned to time, distance and heart rate, you will be able to monitor all of the vital aspects of your workout. In addition, there are eight tension levels to ensure that your workouts are challenging.
One thing we do have to mention is that this cross trainer is one of the most affordable on the market. Although it has a lower price tag, Orbus does not compromise on quality. The XT520 is constructed with high-gauge, tubular steel for the utmost in durability.
We enjoyed our experience with the XT520, but we do have to note that the stride is shorter than usual. If you’re tall, you may have a difficult time using this cross trainer.
Pros
- Affordable
- 8 tension levels for challenging workouts
- Durable construction
- Silent operation
- Convenient LCD display
Cons
- Short stride
As mentioned previously, the only issue with this cross trainer is that it has a short stride. In other words, the distance the foot moves is small, which can be an issue for tall users. The short stride may cause you to lean forward and therefore, put more stress on your back.
Our experience with the Orbus XT520 was a positive one. We enjoyed a brisk, difficult workout that left us feeling exhilarated. We recommend this cross trainer to anyone who is just getting started with fitness and looking for an affordable piece of equipment. Even if you are an experienced user, you will still find that this elliptical provides a brilliant workout.
